Sorry Detroit.

For the last few years St. Louis has been the "Most Crime Ridden City in the History of Man" according to a bunch of snake oil salesmen but this year they have ranked Detroit as being the worst crime city in the world (country). Let me just tell you that I am from Detroit originally but have lived in St. Louis pretty much most of my life so I know which is worse first hand. When they originally ranked St. Louis number 1 I was shocked. I could walk down the street in the Lou at any time of day or night and would be fine. In Detroit, if you parked too far away from Tiger Stadium you would be lucky to have a car there once the game was over. This being said, I really don't think this list should be out there. According to the FBI the company that puts this out skews the data quite a bit and is pretty unreliable. Also while Detroit may have the worst crime, it doesn't mean you won't get your ass shot in Atlantic City or even Mission Viejo (the allegedly safest city in America).

Here is a little tip I learned from my boy, Lloyd Carr: don't be stupid. It applies but if you are stupid you won't realize it until your stupidity has failed you for the last time.
